A campaign to create today’s “Do Not Disturb” signal

Noisy open offices, endless meetings, annoying distractions—how are today’s developers supposed to get any work done? That’s why when Capital One wanted to engage with developers, we turned to a secret weapon that was music to their ears. Literally. By creating a series of “helpful playlists” on Spotify, we were able to connect with the tech community and help them power through their workday.

Through a co-creation process with the tech community, we were able to curate playlists that tackled common work-life pain points like productivity, focus, and relaxation. The playlists quickly became a hit with the tech community and were shared across social media platforms, generating buzz for Capital One as a modern tech company that understands the needs of its target audience. Plus, we got to be DJ heroes, curating the perfect blend of tunes that helped developers power through their workday.

In the end, the campaign was a win-win. Developers got the tools they needed to be productive, and Capital One established itself as a company that goes beyond just banking to provide innovative solutions for their customers. Who knew that playlists could be so powerful?
