#CreativeSprint is global art game that anyone can play. 30 consecutive days of making and sharing.
Day 1 of the #CreativeSprint: make something that’ll fit in the palm of your hand.
Day 3 of a sketch a day – antelope skull
Thanks to a friend’s suggestion, I’ve started as a New Year’s resolution to do a sketch a day. Hopefully I’ll keep it up. I feel a bit rusty, but it feels great to start again
The Carolina Ukulele Ensemble of the University of North Carolina contacted Lanikai Ukuleles to sponsor their group. The logo reflects both the styles of the UNC logo (in the colors) and the Lanikai logo (in the style).
These two ads were for our drum line: Sonor Drums. The brand identity of the company is both simplistic verging on edgy. The Perfect Balance Pedal was designed as a simplistic, yet sophisticated new pedal design, so the ad needed to reflect these principles. The second ad was for one of Sonor’s premium German made drum lines: the Prolite Series.
The Golden Melody is a harmonica renowned by country musicians. It has equal temperament tuning for melody playing, which makes it a natural for Country Music, but it can still bring down the house on blues and rock numbers.
This t-shirt design for the harmonica reflects the essence of the Golden Melody.
At NAMM 2012, HOHNER released the FlexRack: A Revolution For Harp Rack Adjustability. Unlike other harmonica racks, it features adjustability on three different points. The design was supposed to be modern, while still featuring a well known artist (I chose folk artist Donovan.)
Soon to be released is packaging for the American Ace harmonica. It will feature vintage WWII style planes as well as retro style typography and new coverplate. This is the box and coverplate portion I designed for the updated look.
Another coverplate design was a customized harmonica for the NSA Khaki Ball.
For HOHNER’s annual fall festival, they had a pumpkin painting contest. I painted these monster characters based on the different product lines: Impugnable Imprinted, Attack-ordions (accordions), Dreaded Fretted, The Harm-onica, Moaner Kids (Hohner Kids), Poi-sonor (Sonor Drums). It won first place.OHNER’s annual fall festival, they had a pumpkin painting contest.
